Desirable Residences

This short story was published in Good Housekeeping magazine in February 1929. When Jack Adrian collected it for his anthology of Benson short stories he noted the Benson frequently used Rye, the town where he then lived, in his novels under a variety of names including Tilling and Tillingham and, in a fit of absent mindedness presumably, in Desirable Residences Benson transplanted Miss Mapp and Diva from Tilling to Tillingham.

Adrian changed that back to Tilling his book and but we've left it as is in our annotated version of it which is online.
